3 Simple Ways to Fall Asleep Super Quickly

, Elixan

Sleep really is something we all should all probably priortise more. But, even when we do we often have trouble falling asleep, staying asleep and waking up refreshed.

So, here are 3 simple things you can do TODAY to improve your sleep TONIGHT!

1: Ditch caffeine after 2pm!

Caffeine has a half life of 6 hours so that coffee at 2pm means around 40mg (say a coffee has 80mg of caffeine give or take) is still running around your system at 10pm! This can be even greater as an accumulative affect if you have had several coffees or teas throughout the day!

Personally, I think our stress levels would drastically improve / reduce it we limited or removed caffeine completely!

2: Switch off all Electronic Devices 30/45 Minutes before Bed.

The debate on the blue light being emitted from these devices affecting our sleep hormones is still debatable. However, what isn’t debatable is that these devices are stimulatory and we need to be calming ourselves before bed..not getting overly excited!

The key when changing a habit is to replace it with something else to refocus the mind:

Try the following:

Read a book – remember those!

Hot bath with essential oils

Light stretching and yoga to mobilise your stiff back, neck and shoulders

If they don’t appeal then there is always something else you could do 30 – 45 minutes before bed!

3: Supplement with Magnesium.

It doesn’t have to be directly before bed but try a 10-12 week supplement cycle and see if it helps. Magnesium really is awesome at calming your nervous system and anxiety or stress are the two biggest reason why we can’t sleep.

The Megamag Calmeze product is the perfect Magnesium solution. Not only does it contain a whopping 200mg of Magnesium bisglycinate (bisglycinate or glycinate are the only types of Magnesium you want to be taking by the way!) it also contains the following nutrients all of which have calming affects on the body:-)

Glycine (1800mg)

Glycine is an amino acid that your body uses to create proteins, which it needs for the growth and maintenance of tissue and for making important substances, such as hormones and enzymes. Glycine is one of the amino acids essential to the body’s synthesis of the antioxidant glutathione.

L-Theanine (100mg)

Is the calming element found in tea and elevates levels of GABA, serotonin and dopamine. These chemicals are known as neurotransmitters, and they work in the brain to regulate emotions, mood, concentration, alertness, and sleep, as well as appetite, energy, and other cognitive skills.

L-Taurine (2000mg)

L-Taurine has important functions in the heart and brain and helps support nerve growth.

L-Glutamine (500mg)

L-Glutamine is produced in the muscles and is distributed by the blood to the organs that need it. Glutamine might help gut function, the immune system, and other essential processes in the body, especially in times of stress.

Plus B Vitamins and Vitamin C!

I noticed a huge difference when taking this supplement. My ability to manage stressful situations and stay calm improved dramatically, and anyone that knows me will know what a little ball of bent up stress I used to be!!

The product contains 30 servings and I recommend taking it daily for the first month. You can then re-evaluate your needs depending how you feel and decide if you still need to take it every day for the following month. Or, you may find 3-4 times a week is enough for the next 6-8 weeks.

Orange

Raspberry

Chamomile

I’ve often taken it in the morning so I don’t forget.

Hope this helps, happy sleeping:-)
