Vitamin D3 High Strength is designed to offer high strength vitamin D support, with 5000iu in a single, small-sized daily tablet. This higher strength supplement is suitable for those with a vitamin D deficiency, or insufficient levels, to gain optimal therapeutic benefits.
At a cost of just 16p per tablet, our high strength vitamin D3 is a cost-effective and convenient way to top up your vitamin D levels.
Which form of Vitamin D do you use?
At Nutri Advanced, we use vitamin D3, the body’s preferred form of this nutrient for optimal absorption and efficacy. This is the same form made in the skin in response to sunlight, meaning it is easier and faster for the body to absorb than other forms.
What does Vitamin D3 do?
Vitamin D3 plays in important role in bone health – without it, our bodies cannot absorb calcium which is critical for strong bones. It’s also needed for muscle function, as well as healthy, balanced immune system function. Low vitamin D levels, which are common amongst the UK population, particularly during winter, may compromise our immune response and leave us at risk of infection. Because it helps to balance the immune system, it’s important for those with over-active immune systems too.
Who is at risk of Vitamin D Deficiency?
Between October and March, everyone in the UK is at risk of low levels of vitamin D, as during those months we cannot generate enough vitamin D in the skin through sunlight, and it is very difficult to consume enough through food. Those aged over 65, those with limited exposure to sunshine, and people with darker skin types have a higher risk of vitamin D deficiency.
How much Vitamin D is Recommended?
The UK government recommends that everyone over the age of 1 should be taking 10mcg (400iu) of vitamin D daily, however this is a base level, and the Endocrine Society recommend 1000iu for optimal, therapeutic benefits. Vitamin D toxicity is very rare. In the UK, the upper safe limit is 4000iu per day, however doses up to 10,000iu daily have not been shown to cause toxicity so you can be rest assured that it is not easy to ingest too much vitamin D. We recommend regular testing of your vitamin D levels when taking this product.
